The models 895 and 895e printers are versatile, high speed, serial or parallel, dot-matrix, impact printers capable of both draft and enhanced print quality. This manual describes the customization of TI 895 and TI 895e ticket printers.
Customization TI 895 includes
Connection
to parallel port and set up Windows Generic/Text only
driver
Connection to serial port, cable configuration and set up Windows Generic/Text only driver
Set Print Features to the position D
Press the Command key
Press Set Form Length touch switch to start the setup. The printer beeps and moves the top of the form to the top of the tear-off bar.
Press ^ key (Up arrow) touch switch as many times as necessary to bring the next top of form to the top of the tear-off bar. For example, press ^ 24 times for 4 inch Aeroflot blank.
Press the Normal key to complete setup.
Press Command key and Menu key for review of installations. Check value FORM LENGTH IN LINES=0xx where xx is installed value.
This value can be in a range between 18 and 24 or more. At correct customization of form length - there is a correct positioning the following form at running by Form Feed key

Press the ^ (up arrow) touch switch to move the printed left margin to right 1/10 inch, or press V (down arrow) touch switch to move the left margin to the left 1/10 inch. 1/10 inch is 1 char.
Press Menu key for review of installations. Check value LEFT MARGIN=00x where x is installed value.
When the left margin is satisfactory, Press Normal key
Load ticket or paper by pressing Load/Park key
Switch Print Features key to D position
Press Command key
Press Adjust Top of Form key
Adjust the first print line as follows (Tear Off). If the horizontal tear-off perforations are above the tear - off bar when you press the Tear Off touch switch, press V key (down arrow) for each 1/2 printed dot ( approximately 1/144 inch). If the horizontal tear - off perforations are below the tear - off bar when you press the Tear Off touch switch, press ^ (up arrow) touch switch once to adjust the stock 1/2 printed dot (approximately 1/144 inch).
Press Tear Off touch switch to test the new adjustment
Press Normal key to complete setup
Press Command key
Press Adjust Print Line key
If the first line is printing too high on the stock, press ^ key (up arrow) touch switch once for each 1/2 printed dot (approximately 1/144 inch). If the first line printing too low on the stock. press V key (down arrow) for each 1/2 printed dot ( approximately 1/144 inch).
Press Normal key to complete setup.
For operation TI 895 through the parallel port it is necessary:
connect printer to parallel port PC (LPT1-LPT4) by standard cable
setup parameters 14=OFF 17=ON on the printer
setup Windows Generic/ Text Only driver for selected parallel port (LPT1-LPT4)
Setup parameters 14=OFF 17=ON
Load ticket or paper to the printer
Set Print Features to position D
Press Command key
Press Menu key for configuration report print out
After printing a configuration report , press the Change switch. The printer begins the configuration menu by printing the currently selected code for communication mode. COMM 14 - ON/OFF. ON means the feature is selected, OFF means the feature is not selected. If parameter 14 = ON, then printer will be work through COM port. Press Change key 2 times to change parameter 14=OFF and 17=ON. In this case printer will be work in the LPT mode.
Press Accept key to select next parameter.
Press Normal key to save parameters
Press Command -> Menu for checking configuration parameters
For work through LPT1-LPT4 port should be setup following parameters:

Attention ! It is necessary to install a printer driver Generic / Text Only for the parallel port before or after printer parameters customization.
For operation TI 895 through the parallel port it is necessary:
setup the Generic/Text Only driver for serial ports (COM1-COM4).
Load ticket or paper by pressing Load/Park key
Select Print Features to position D
Press Command key
Press Menu key for printing configuration report
You should receive the report:

Manual Tear Off. If 95 is ON, when the printer enters tear - off mode, it remains there until the Tear Off touch switch is received from host. If 95 is OFF , the 7-sec automatic tear-off delay is in effect.

Check up installations of the system or ticket printer in Gabriel system before connection and usage in the UTS ACCESS . If you work with terminals Sigma date, type on the Slave terminal the command: CTRL/SET. You receive characteristics of printer connection to the COM port:
Baud Rate, Data Bits, Parity, Stop Bits, Flow Control
Setup the same parameters for PC COM port through Widows menu:
Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager -> Ports -> Communications Port -> Port Settings
In another case ( if you used Infoconnect, Liaison or Gnet Pep programs), address to the system administrator for printer specification settings
